Accelerating young children’s development

I’ve been away from this blog for quite some time… but I thought I would use this forum to help attract participants for my graduate research…

Parenting in a time where life moves fast and feels uncertain can be an experience shaped easily by the demands to give children a competitive-edge in every aspect of their life from the earliest days of infancy. But for many of you, a fight against this pressure wells up daily in the decisions you make for your children. You may prefer play to training, place trust in your child’s developmental course, and stand up to the pressure to purchase your way towards smarter, brighter children. Ultimately, you engage in resistance – resistance against a culture that is too focused on accelerating young children’s development.

If you find yourself relating to anything in the statement above and are a parent of a child from six months to five-years-old, email me at jaimejacobs@rossfeld.com with your name and I will contact you about participating in a graduate research project that will take no more than one hour of your time.
